What These Veins Are?

When you think about this painful anus condition you may think that are some weird and scornful growth happens inside your anal area. This is concept is absolutely wrong. Because there is no growth at all! In reality Hemorrhoids are normal veins web exists in your anal cavity. We all have them. And they exist in huge number.
Hemorrhoidal plexus is the term used for specific place in rectum (The rectum is the final segment of the large intestine that connects the colon to the anus) where an intricate weave of veins connect together in a form of web ensuring proper and constant blood flow this area and other body parts. These veins are further divided into in two types; the web of veins exist inside the rectal opening are named external hemorrhoidal veins while veins exist outside of the rectal opening are called external hemorrhoidal veins. When these veins become inflamed causing pain then this condition is called hemorrhoids. When this inflammation is severe we feel its existence in the form of stinging, itching, intense pain and even bleeding.
Types of Hemorrhoid
Hemorrhoids are divided into two main types on the basis of their location;
If the swollen veins inside the anal canal are affected, it is termed internal hemorrhoids. The main symptoms of it are they hurt and sometime can even bleed.
If the swollen veins exist near the anal opening it is called external hemorrhoids. External hemorrhoids do not usually hurt. The main symptoms of it are sever itching, bleeding and sometime even a little bit discharge as well. It the situation exists for some time then a blood clot can grow inside the vein which seems like a hard marble. This hard marble like clotting is called thrombosed hemorrhoid. This is extremely painful. So if the condition is severed then a surgery is the ultimate option.
Internal and external hemorrhoids are further divided into different groups on basis of severity;
Grade One: – among four grade of hemorrhoids this is least painful; tends to bulge out mildly during bowel movements with slight bleeding.
Grade Two: move out during bowl moments and straining but then moves back inside on its own.
Grade Three: painful situation, hemorrhoidal veins come out and needs to be manually pushed back in, normally bleeding occur.
Grade Four: this is the most painful condition; hemorrhoidal veins bulge out of the anus at all times, high frequency of bleeding.

Causes of Hemorrhoids
- Family History
- Straining during bowl moment
- Prolonged sitting or standing
- IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome)

- Anal intercourse

The diagnosis process of hemorrhoids is quite simple and a general physician can diagnose it with physical examination as well as patient’s medical history.
But in case there are clues of some other health risks then doctor can for detailed tests such as sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy and Barium enema.

- Add more fiber to your daily food
- Hydrate your body with more water
- Sitz bath for relieving rectal muscles
- Use soft cushion/pillow for sitting
