What Is Cellulite? Symptoms, Causes and Treatment

Cellulite Formation Process

Hormones are one of the important contributors responsible for this condition. Insulin, estrogen, thyroid hormone and other related hormones can accelerate the formation of cellulite. According to expert there are four stages cellulite formation.

Stage 1:-

During this first stage there are several changes occur which can’t be viewed through naked eye. In this stage the changes involve worsening of the skin dermis while at same time the performance of blood vessels and capillaries which form a complex blood transport network throughout the skin also deteriorate. Likewise in the upper region of the dermis also start to lose some of its capillary network as well. The fat cells located in skin which are housed within the freestanding fat cell chambers start swelling with lipids. This fat cells swelling is substantial normally 2 to 3 time of the original size of the fat cells. In this first stage the clumping of the fat cells also begins.  Another thing happen is the fluid accumulation inside the tissue which is the result of the breakdown of the capillary system.  During this primary stage fat projection begins in the dermis and there is an increase Glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), which enables the tissues to retain excess of water than normal condition.

Stage 2:-

In this stage the dermal worsening process continues while the micro-circulatory system also keeps it up its deterioration. During this second stage the fat cells swelling and clumping is more noticeable, which cause pushing the much needed blood vessels further away. In this stage a gaps appear in the skin while at same time fluid accumulation continues so now we can see the orange peel skin.

Stage 3:-

In these two stages the microcirculatory system deterioration continues resulting in slow down of metabolism in the skin’s cells. Another bad thing happen is the drastic reduction if protein synthesis and repair process. These two factors are responsible for thinning of the skin layer. Another thing is the deposit of the protein around the fat cell clusters. At end of the stage three orange peel effects are visible on pinching the skin between finger and thumb.

Stage 4:-

In stage four hard nodules are visible in the skin on affected area. In this final cellulite formation stage the fat cell clumps enclosed in a hardened protein shell.

Cause of Cellulite

The exact cause of cellulite is unknown but according to dermatologists the actual cause of the cellulite is the breakdown in the connective fibers, but the reason behind this breakdown is the worsening of the skin’s blood microcirculatory system.  Due to swelling of the vein there is excess accumulation of water inside the tissue and some of other fluids as well. But the thing which creates a conducive environment for this retention of material amount of fluid is the poor blood circulation.  There are many reasons for this poor circulation such as nutrient deficiency, blocking of arteries, too much sitting in same position and lack of exercise.  This is the reason this condition happens in area where there is poor blood circulation.

Sime experts say that cellulite is the result of interaction between the connective tissue in the dermatological layer that just lies below skin’s surface and the next fat’s layer.

Cellulite Treatment

80 to 90% of women may experience this skin condition at some time in their lives. While the main the chances of this skin condition is very less. The reason for this difference between male and female is;

In women the connective tissues and fat cells are arranged vertically so there is a greater chance of interaction between the connective tissue in the dermatological layer and fat layer.

In men the tissue has criss cross structure so there is less chance of interaction between the connective tissue in the dermatological layer lies just beneath the skin and the layer of fat next to it.

The affective of this Zwave treatment is that cellulite dimpled breaks apart and leads to a collapse in the gas bubbles within the fat structures. This 100% non-invasive treatment, radial pulse therapy” or RPT supports to remodel collagen and smooth cellulite and firm the skin with help of radial pulse technology. In simple words the RPT is brief and powerful but safe blasts of sonic energy through the skin’s surface. These controlled blasts are highly effective to break up some of the fibrous connective tissue that is the reason of this unwanted cellulite, leading to disrupt fat structures beneath the skin, and boost collagen production.

In this method dermatological fibrous septa are cut; this both reduces the traction exerted on the skin and creates hematomas which in turn stimulate the formation of new connective tissue. Therefore, it acts as an autologous and physiologic filler.

Subcision is useful for treating stage 2 and stage 3 cellulitis. In these two stages the lesions are visible when the patient is in the standing position with relaxed gluteus muscle.

On completion of process, compression bandages are applied and patients are usually able to drive home unaided.
